Burwell Architects have completed the Vabel Lawrence, a mixed-use development situated on Lawrence Road, Seven Sisters. Lawrence Road featured two sites which underwent regeneration to create 75 residential units with communal amenity space in Tottenham, London. 

Residents are greeted by a monumental brick archway upon arrival, complemented by sleek black corrugated steel, leading them into a verdant courtyard at the heart of the complex. This architectural composition pays homage to the industrial heritage of Lawrence Road, embodying the essence of warehouse living within a contemporary framework. The brickwork and black metal-framed windows reflect the character of historic industrial buildings, while the material palette, featuring concrete, steel, reeded glass, and ceramic finishes, adds depth and texture to the development. 

Articulation in the brickwork and balconies break up the mass of the building facade, generating a consistent rhythm in the elevation which relates to the internal layout. In addition to the communal amenity space, the project benefits from large lobby areas which create opportunities to socialise with neighbours and greet visitors. 

Burwell served as Stage 2 architects, overseeing the detailed design and delivery, while Vabel's in-house design team provided the concept and planning designs.
